Everybody feels nervous and puzzled on his/her first date. Let's face it. For many of us, dating is a big challenge, as we don't know a lot about each other, or are simply meeting in person for the first time.
We aren't sure what to say, how to act and the most important thing - how to impress.
There is nothing to worry about, as it is quite natural to feel that way. Even the experts have felt that way.
Remember, the main idea behind your first date should be to get to know each other better. Put everything else on the back burner (at least for the time being).
You should know about her hobbies, interests, family and friends. But sometimes, instead of talking about each other, some people enter into the "silent zone" during their first date. It should be avoided in any case.
If you aren't sure about what to talk about on your date or what questions to ask, choose any general topic, such as new album of your favorite band, some new movie release or even the weather e.g. "Don't you think weather is too cold today?
But, never talk about money, cast, creed, religion, politics etc. on your date, as most people get sensitive and aggressive on these topics.

You must follow some simple rules prior to actually going out on a date. These rules would make your event successful and memorable.
Plan With a Back Up
No matter, what your plan actually is, think about some close alternative. A back up plan is necessary to save your date from being spoiled. Expect the unexpected to happen. The weather may change anytime and your favorite restaurant may close for renovations. A back up plan in this case would make your date successful.
Make Your Date Short and Sweet
Your date must be short enough to make the other person crave for more and look forward to another meeting with you. Being on an all day tour is a big no-no. Moreover, the chances of you fumbling and ruining the event due to nervousness or anxieties would be substantially lowered. Always remember this golden rule.
Be Punctual
Punctuality is very important especially for your first date. If you are late, it will show a sign of disrespect for your date. Being punctual would show your date that you are a man of commitment and you care about her.
Compliment Her
It is important to compliment your partner on your first date. The compliment can be about her tastes, the way she carries herself and her opinions. If the situation is right, appreciate her body and tell her how she looks. Believe me, they'd love it.
Listen To Her
You must concentrate on listening to your date and respect her opinion. Remember the golden rule "first listen and then talk".
Be Comfortable
Don't wear something just because it would make you look cool or macho. Wear something that you feel comfortable with.
Choose the Location with Care
You must choose the location for your first date with utmost care, because the main purpose of the first date is to know each other better.
Last but not least, a first date is special for everyone. Even after many years, you probably remember the first time when you took a girl out, the place you chose and the moments you spent.
Feel confident, keep smiling and wear clothes you feel comfortable in and try to understand your girl well. You must make your date feel that you are happy with her.
